Yes, we can either hold any mail related to your property , i.e. taxes, maintenance, co-owners' affairs, etc., in our office and call or fax you discreetly when necessary, or you can arrange that with your private bank in Switzerland.

 

Yes, in every building there is a concierge or house keeper who will take care of everything. If you need extras like flower maintenance or garden care, someone can take care of it for a fee.

 

Yes, there are charges for the care of common ground such as elevators, gardens, heating or the concierge's salary. These amount to a few hundred Swiss francs a month, which you can pay annually. The exact amount depends, of course, of the size and type of the building.

 

Yes, and they are very low. Again, this depends on the size and type of the building.

 

Co-owners usually meet once a year to discuss what to do with the garden, elevator, concierge, etc., but you can choose someone, for example a permanent resident of the building or the building manager, to represent you.

 

Most apartments are unfurnished - which is a blessing if you don't share the same taste. If you need furniture, we can arrange that for you, either by going with you to good furniture show rooms and have your purchases delivered to the apartment. This is a good idea, but an even better, cheaper and more convenient thing to do is have you choose from some excellent Italian furniture catalogues. We will then arrange for them to deliver to your apartment. In either case, we can take care of it for you.

 

Like everywhere in the world, burglaries do occur, but if the door to the building is closed and your windows are not accessible from the ground, you are pretty safe. If you want to leave art objects in your apartment, they are safer in Switzerland than in most parts of the world, but nonetheless we advise you to have an alarm installed because you never know. And, of course, don't stash your cash or jewelry under your towels or on top of your cupboards.

 

You can rent it out part-time as a vacation apartment, but not full-time as a residential apartment.
