In French- and Italian-speaking Switzerland the custom is to take business acquaintances out to lunch (some say that is because the food is better in this part of the country). Discussions are never restricted to business topics and conversations often touch on cultural tastes, cuisine, travel, the European Community and so on. Personal and family issues are only raised by the persons concerned.
