The nearest campsite is Waldhort, Heideweg 16 in Reinach (061/711 64 29, fax 711 48 33; March–Oct), about 10km south of town (tram #11 to Landhof). Basel’s pleasant riverside HI hostel, St Alban-Kirchrain 10 (061/272 05 72, fax 272 08 33; a; closed Christmas & New Year), is quiet, spotless and well run, but pricey – dorms are Fr.29.
