The nearest campsite is Lido, Lidostrasse 8 (041/370 21 46, fax 370 21 45; March–Oct), also with some non-reservable dorm beds, while the quality HI hostel is 1km northwest of town by the Rotsee, Sedelstrasse 12 (041/420 88 00, fax 420 56 16; a; bus #18 to Jugendherberge), with dorms from Fr.31. Friendly Backpackers, a former student house on the shore of the Vierwaldstättersee, 800m southeast of the station at Alpenquai 42 (041/360 04 20, fax 360 04 42; a; bus #6/7/8 to Weinbergli, then head left for 150m to the lakeshore promenade), has pleasant dorms for Fr.22, and basic doubles for a little more, along with free kitchen use and Internet access. The central Tourist Hotel has excellent dorms on the riverside for Fr.30.
